The Sorting Ceremony
Professor Samantha Lovelight, had taken her place at the front of the great hall, and watched smiling at the new first years, that went the huge oak doors had opened, began to file down the center of the hall. "Welcome, to Salem Institute." she began. "Here at this school, you will spend seven years. In that time, you will have accomplished many things throughout." her eyes passed the students. "We hope you all will do your very best here, and wish you luck."
She walked over to where the stool stood, place on it the sorting hat. "One at a time, you will be sorted, into your houses. They are Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin." she announced. She took out parchment from her robes, and began to list the students names, smiling to each of them as they went to take their places.

Roleplay going into the Great Hall, what your feelings and thoughts are. You then will be sorted into your house.

The Sorting Ceremony
Pearl Vardimir waited eagerly at her table. As each name was read out, Pearl Shivered with excitement. She had to hug herself to stop shaking. Suddenly Professor Lovelight called out 'Pearl Vardimir!'. But suddenly, Pearl became nervous. Her shakes of excitment turned to shakes of fright. Pearl's thoughts buzzed in her head, and the room began to whizz round.
'Pearl Vardimir?!' Said Professor Lovelight, getting impatient. Pearl shut her eyes to stop
the dizziness, and then slowly put one foot infront of the other. She couldn't walk in a straight line, and she hated the way everybody was watching her. Pearl tripped on the step, making her feel more embarassed. But Pearl kept thinking positively, and the scaredness passed. Pearl slowly sat down, shifting on the stool. The sorting hat was placed on her head. Her brain felt completely empty, like she didn't care where she was placed. She thought about her dead baby sister. She prayed that everything would be OK wherever she was put.
Then the sorting hat spoke:
"Well well, let's see what we have here. Kind and honest i feel, alot of potential, better be....HUFFLEPUFF"

Re: The Sorting Ceremony
He strode slowly at the back of the group, watching the hustle and bustle with a sneer. Standing taller and older then the majority of the group he looked upon their laughter as immature and screeching. Would this really be what the fabled Salem Institute would be like? So far he was not impressed.
He walked in silence, his thoughts brooding on why he was here, what little choice he was given. The fact he was given no choice at all. His mind slid back to the conversations before he left, his gaze dropping to his feet. Forceful reminders why the Salem Institute was the best location, even though thousands of miles away from all he knew. His eyes cringed in reflex as a shrilling laugh pierced his ears from amidst the large group of students in front. Not. Impressed.
As he approached through the arched hallway and towards the hall his green gaze saw the first students enter through it and stop, faces enraptured by the spectacle which faced them. He sneered as they piled up, easily seeing over their heads to the object of their amazement. The Great Hall. He fixed a candle with his gaze, and watched it bob as if being pulled down. With a shadow of a smile flashing across his eyes he looked away and the candle slunk back to it's original position. His eyes flittered once more as his mind sought more entertainment, smirking in amusement as a young girl tripped on her way up to the "sorting hat". After the first 5 or so students were called his patience wore thin, paying attention to what was going on for the first time.
He KNEW which house he would be a part of. What was the point of this ceremony? So people who didn't know where their heart belonged were told? He sighed at the seeming futility and slipped round the side to the front.
Spotting the table adorned with green and silver he headed forwards, unheeding the gasps of onlookers.
"Interesting, a possible trouble maker i see. Better than the rest or so he thinks..better be, SLYTHERIN!"

Sorting
Niko walked into the great hall with amazement glued to his face,
following the rest of the excited crowed, Their numbers dropped one by one until
"Carter, Niko" At those words a cool smirk appeared across his face,
he was finally going to see where his new home would lay,
And began walking closer and closer to the sorting hat, giving a quick glance of each of four houses
but was fixed on one for a fraction of a second longer, before finally arriving at the small stool
and then the sorting hat spoke.
"Very interesting, very difficult. Many aspects of a personality here, i think, you will do well....GRIFFINDOR!"

Re: The Sorting Ceremony
Kim Estelle sauntered into the great hall. She was wearing something that looked like it once belonged to a barbie. Her hair was elegant, and she kept her chin up. A little twerp looked up at her, and she gave her a mean look. As she waited, she scratched a bump on her arm. Her hair fell round her shoulders. As her name was called, she walked in such a way that her hair bobbed up and down. She sat on the chair with a positive smirk on her face.
"Passionate with beauty, high expectations, there's only one house for you my dear... SLYTHERIN!"
